I’m So Glad You’re Here!

Seriously.
Because if you landed here, something probably feels a little off—and you’re sharp enough to notice it.
I’m Laura. And I’m a Gen X woman living the same reality you are.
Career. Family. Aging parents. Schedules stacked on schedules. A body that needs more maintenance than it used to. Sleep that doesn’t always cooperate. A mind that feels full, tired, and oddly restless at the same time.
I’ve spent more than three decades in the fitness and wellness world. I’ve taught the classes, managed the teams, climbed the ladder, earned the titles. I know how to stay capable. I know how to push through. I’m good at handling things.
And if I’m honest?
That strength has also made it easy to ignore my own needs longer than I should have.
Gen X women are independent by nature. We figured things out early. We don’t love asking for help. We normalize doing it all ourselves—even when it quietly costs us connection, rest, and space to think.
That’s not a failure. It’s a pattern.
LAYLO wellness exists because a lot of us reached a point where the old ways stopped working. The body speaks up. The mind feels crowded. Friendships thin out. Life looks full, yet something feels missing.
I know this personally. Leaving an abusive marriage and a high-control religious community later in life forced a reset I never planned for. I lost relationships overnight. I rebuilt from the ground up. I learned the difference between proximity and support, between being surrounded and being known.
That experience changed how I see wellness forever.
Here, wellness isn’t performative or theoretical. It lives in real life.
In how your body holds up over time.
In how steady your mind feels when the noise quiets.
In whether you have people you can call without rehearsing the conversation first.
What This Space Is For
For women who are strong—and tired of pretending strength means doing everything alone.
For women who have full calendars and still feel disconnected.
For women who want to feel better in their bodies, clearer in their minds, and more supported in their relationships—without overhauling their entire lives.
This work is practical. It respects your intelligence. It assumes you’re capable—and that support still matters.
Ways to Work Together
Friendship After 40
An online experience for women who want real connection again. The kind that fits adult life. Honest conversation. Shared language. Tools that make friendships easier to build and maintain instead of another thing to manage.
Retreats
Small, intentional gatherings where conversation comes naturally, movement feels good, and connection lasts past the weekend. You’ll leave feeling steadier, lighter, and less alone—without needing a recovery week to recover from the experience.
Why LAYLO wellness
Because living longer only matters if life still feels rich.
Because strong women still need support.
Because independence and connection can exist at the same time.
I’m not standing on the other side of this. I’m walking through it too—paying attention, adjusting, learning what actually makes life feel better now.
If you’re nodding as you read this, you’re in the right place.
Take a look around. Start where it makes sense.
Life really is better with friends.
